Crescent Rock Overlook

Shenandoah National Park is just a narrow ridge of trees between two populated plains. In places called "gaps," you can look from right to left and see across the entire park to both plains. Above is a view westward toward the Shenandoah River Valley and another, even narrower, ridge on the horizon. To the east, they say that before smog, you could see all the way to the Washington Monument.
